The Austrian Baroque sculptor Josef stammer creates one of his major works, The Four Last Things, which today are located in Admont Abbey. They are among the best works of Alpine Baroque sculpture.
The Italian Baroque painter Francesco Sozzi paints the fresco cycle The Four Seasons at Palazzo Isnello in Palermo.
During his two- year stay in Vienna receives Bernardo Bellotto, called Canaletto, news of the destruction of his house and the destruction of some of his works of art by Prussian bombardment of Dresden from 14 to 20 July in 1760. His wife and daughters have remained intact, but the damage by the destruction of part of his artwork and printing plates amounts to 50,000 dollars.
The 18 -year-old Angelika Kauffmann breaks up with her father to a multi-year trip to Italy to study the art of antiquity and the Renaissance there.
