1938–39 Primeira Divisão

The Primeira Divisão 1938/39, was the fifth season of the Portuguese top football men.

After four seasons sample ( = Portuguese champion) was determined in the league this season mode from the Campeão de Portugal. The Campeonato de Portugal has been restructured for pure cup competition and renamed Taça de Portugal ( Portuguese Cup = ).

Champion for the second time FC Porto.

Participant

Until 1948, the teams were eligible, have qualified through regional tournaments. Promotion and relegation was introduced afterwards.

New here was Casa Pia AC, the total sixth club from the capital Lisbon.
