2005-06 in Portuguese football

The 2005/06 season of the Primeira Liga began on 19 August 2005 and ended on 7 May 2006. The League was named in the current season after the main sponsor Betandwin.com.

This season, FC Porto was the 21 -time champions. Scorer of the Cameroonian Albert Meyong Zé from relegated Belenenses Lisbon with 17 hits before João Tomás (SC Braga), Liedson (Sporting Lisbon ) and Nuno Gomes ( Benfica ) who achieved all 15 results. Portugal renounced his Intertoto Cup place. Unlike the previous seasons for the first time rose from four clubs, since the number of participating clubs was reduced to 16.
