1947 Grand Prix season
For the race of the Grand Prix season in 1947 was edited by the FIA rulebook formula A.
The main criteria of the formula A were:
- Engine capacity 4500 cc, for vehicles with compressor maximum of 1500 cc,
- A race had to go over a race distance of 300 km or take at least three hours.
A weight limit for the race car was not fixed.
The dominant team was Alfa Romeo, as the best driver of this year to Jean -Pierre Wimille. The German riders and teams were still excluded.
In addition to those listed in this article larger number of smaller races, national races even took place.
The FIA honorary title of European Grand Prix was awarded in 1947 to the Belgian Grand Prix.
Race Results
Grand Prix of Switzerland
The Grand Prix of Switzerland on the Bremgarten circuit on June 8, 1947, carried out in three rounds. In the two preliminary heats and three people, including a little boy who wanted to cross the street died in accidents. The result table shows the rankings of the decisive third run.
Grand Prix of Belgium / Europe
With a quadruple victory in the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa- Francorchamps on June 29, 1947 Alfa Romeo introduced its superiority in this year's show. Be the first to Jean -Pierre Wimille crossed the finish line.
Grand Prix of Italy
The Italian Grand Prix was held on September 7, 1947 at Sempione Park in Milan. The Monza circuit has not yet been restored. This Grand Prix of the Italian aristocracy Trossi celebrated a success.
Grand Prix of France
The Grand Prix of France on September 21, 1947 took place on a 7.3 km long stretch of road in the Lyon suburb Parilly.
In the absence of the Alfa Romeos of the " old fox " Chiron won the race.
