1948–49 Mexican Primera División season

The season 1948/49, was the sixth season of the Mexican professional football league, which operated at that time still under the name Liga Mayor.

With the Club León, who had already won the championship in the preseason, it was the first time a defending champion. At the end of the season, the Asociación Deportiva Orizabeña moved for financial reasons back from the league.

The runner-up the previous season, CD Oro, started with five wins and two draws in the league, but then built and landed at the end of the season only in twelfth place.
