1948 Albanian Superliga

Kategoria e Pare The 1948 ( mutatis mutandis: First League ) was the eleventh staging of the Albanian Football Championship and was hosted by the National Football Association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit. The season started on 21 March and ended on 25 August 1948.

Game Mode

The league was increased compared to the previous year back from nine to fourteen teams, reaching its largest ever expansion. Apolonia Fier, Besa Kavaja, Spartaku Kuçova and 8 Nëntori Shijak, until 1946 even as Erzeni Shijak, returned after a year back in the league. Fifth newcomer was Traktori KS Lushnja, which completed his first season in the Kategoria e Pare. Defending champion was FK Partizani Tirana.

As in the first two years of the war game, the participants were divided into two seasons, in which the teams competed against each other twice. In Group A, played six teams in Group B, eight.

A total of 322 were gates, corresponding to an average of 3.8 goals per game. Scorer was Zihni Gjinali Partizani Tirana with eleven goals.

Group A

A close race for a place in the finals, there were in group A. Only thanks to the better goal sat defending Partizani Tirana to ten matches played against last year's runner-up Vllaznia Shkoder through. Group B

Flamurtari Vlora sat in Group B with just one point ahead of Bashkimi Elbasan and the strong freshman Apolonia Fier through. On the fourth and fifth followed Shqiponja Gjirokastra and 8 Nëntori Shijak. Traktori Lushnja reached in his first top-flight season in sixth group rank before Tomori Berat and Spartaku Kuçova. For the following season, however, no longer reported Apolonia Fier and Gjirokastra Shqiponja. Final game

Only a final game for the championship was held in 1948. In a high-scoring game in Tirana hosts Partizani prevailed thanks to a four-pack of Zihni Gjinali 6-2 against Flamurtari Vlora and defended the Albanian title. Vlora was the second time in the last three years runner-up.
