1951 Asian Games

The first Asian Games were held until March 11, in New Delhi on 4.

It was attended by 489 athletes from eleven different member associations of the Olympic Council of Asia. The motto of the Games was " Play the game, in the spirit of the game". It 57 competitions were held in eight sports. The games were opened by Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. They were held in the Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi.

The official logo of the games shows a red sun with 16 beams with a white circle in the middle, which is still today the logo of the Asian Games, and under this sun 11 rings that were available for the participating nations and should symbolize peace.

The next Asian Games, which were held in India, were the Asian Games in 1982. They found 31 years later instead.
