1961 Albanian Superliga

Kategoria e Pare The 1961 ( mutatis mutandis: First League ) was the 24th edition of the Albanian Football Championship and was hosted by the National Football Association Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit. It was the last season, which was held within the calendar year.

Course of the season

The league consisted of ten teams as last year. 1960 was descended Lokomotiva Durres from the Kategoria e Pare. For 1961 Traktori Lushnja rose. Titleholder was KS Dinamo Tirana.

The championship was played in a regular season with round-trip round. Each team met twice against every other team. The two bottom club got into the then second-rate Kategoria e from Dyte. The Master moved into the European Champions Cup. The next season the league began because of the transition to the multi-year Spielryhtmus until mid- 1962.

After finishing the regular season were Partizani Tirana and defending champion Dinamo Tirana on points at the top. Since the direct comparison had ended in a draw, both had to contest a play-off for the championship. Playoff for the championship

The same point standings Partizani Tirana and Dinamo Tirana in Tirana fought a playoff for the title. But after it was still 1-1 after two extensions, another decision match was scheduled.
