Starting next season, the league should be played in a single group with 8 teams only. These were the six teams that finished the promotion round to the places 2-7, which relegated from the Bundesliga ( EK Zell am See ) and the climbers from the national league, which was determined in a tournament of Champions ( Union Krems).

The four teams that failed to qualify for the promotion round himself had to descend into the respective national leagues.
