1971–72 European Cup (handball)

At the European Cup of Champions 1971/72 took 22 handball club teams from 21 countries. These qualified in the previous season in their home countries for the European Cup. At the 12th edition of the competition was with Partizan Bjelovar for the first time a team from Yugoslavia win the cup.

First round

With a bye attracted Genovesi Rome, Partizan Bjelovar, green and white Dankersen, Inter Herstal, Chernomorets Burgas, Sporting Lisbon, Efterslægtens BK Copenhagen, ASK Salzburg, TJ Tatran Prešov and defending champions VfL Gummersbach directly into the last sixteen.
