1977 Fischer-Grand Prix

The Fischer- Grand- Prix 1977 took place 24 to 30 October 1977 to Vienna. The field of individual petition consisted of 32 players, double that of the petition of 16 pairs. The tournament was endowed with $ 50,000.

In singles, the Polish defending Wojciech Fibak reached the final, where he defeated the top-seeded clear American Brian Gottfried in two sets 1:6, 1:6. Even more successful were the last year's winner in double: the South African duo of Bob Hewitt and Frew McMillan could defend their title successfully. They defeated in the final Fibak and his Czechoslovak partner January Kodeš.
