1981–82 2. Bundesliga

In the season 1981/82 the 2nd Bundesliga, FC Schalke 04 and Hertha BSC achieved promotion to the Bundesliga. Kickers Offenbach failed in the relegation games.

It was the first season of the Bundesliga 2, which was held in a season for the entire country. As a result of single-track league in the ascent to the Premier League was restructured.
