Weisenheim am Sand
Way home on the sand is a municipality in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Bad Durkheim. It belongs to the municipality Freinsheim (as well as not to be confused with her way home on the mountain ). Way home on the sand is both in terms of area and number of inhabitants produces the largest community within the municipality. The municipality is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography
Geographical location
Way home on the sand is in the front- Palatinate Rhine valley. By way home flows the fox creek that empties into Frankenthal in the Isenach. The village belongs the adjacent recreation area " Ludwig Hain ", called by the locals affectionately " Keschdeberg " ( Chestnut Hill).
Climate
The area around way home is expected to be the mildest regions in Germany and is particularly suitable for the cultivation of vines and fruit.
History
The town was first mentioned in 771 in the Lorsch Codex documented.
Friedrich Schiller moved out of his way home silver sand to dry the ink.

The local council in way home consists of 20 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

The town has a station on the railway line Freinsheim - Frankenthal.
Education, Sports and Leisure
Way home has three kindergartens and a primary school with four vintages to two classes. The school belongs to the community gym. The local library has now moved from the Town Hall in the basement of the elementary school.
The largest sports club SV is the way home on the sand. Other sports clubs are the ASV way home on the sand, the tennis club Ludwig Hain ( TCL ) and the Archers way home on the sand. As more clubs in the Riding and Driving Club way home, the Friends of the volunteer fire department, the home and museum association and several carnival groups are mentioned. Every year on Shrove Sunday there in the Weisenheimer carnival procession, called Riesling worm, instead, each time attracting thousands of visitors.
Personalities
In way home, the Austrian equestrian athletes Hugo Simon lives. The geodesic Konrad was born in Schredelseker way home.
