Kindenheim

Kindenheim is a municipality in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Bad Durkheim, located in the northwest of the European Metropolitan Region Rhine -Neckar. It belongs to the municipality green town and country.

Geography

The community is a wine-growing village in the Palatinate, near the northern end of the German Wine Route.

History

817 the village was first mentioned as Cunerono. Later it was called Cunnenheim or chin home. Until 1969, the village belonged to the ( extinct ) District Frankenthal.

Religion

End of 2013, 54.9 percent of the population are Protestant and 12.7 percent Catholic. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " Argent, on a green background two naked natural colored children, of whom the right in the right shouldered a golden ax, left in his left hand a golden Rebmesser ( Sesel ) holds, while both with the other hand between them an upright green grape hold ".

Sights and culture

Monument

A monument represents the winery Kreutzberger dar. The Bauhaus architect Otto Prott built the house in the economically difficult 1920s in the style of modernity. In 2005, the house was added cautiously to a press house with wine tasting room on the roof terrace in the former style. The architect Heribert Hamann received for it the " Architecture Award wine."
