1982–83 French Rugby Union Championship

The 1982/83 season was the 84th Edition of the French rugby union championship. It included 40 teams in the top league ( of today's top 14).

The championship was divided into two phases. It began with the group phase in which ten teams in four groups played against each other. The two winners of each group moved directly into the K - o.Runde while the teams ranked 3-6 fought out an additional Barrage. This was followed by eighth note, quarter and semi-finals. In the final game, which took place in Paris on 28 May 1983 at the Parc des Princes, came together the two semi-final winners and played for the Bouclier de Brennus. Here, the AS Béziers won against the RRC Nice and won for the tenth time the championship.
