1992–93 European Cup Winners' Cup
The European Cup Winners 'Cup in 1992/93 was the 33rd playout of the competition of European Football Cup Winners' Cup. 36 club teams from 35 countries took part, including defending champions Werder Bremen, 31 domestic cup winners, 3 inferior Cup finalists ( Airdrieonians FC, FC Admira / Wacker, AIK Solna ) and AS Monaco, which was determined by the French federation to participate.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia for the first time attended by representatives from Russia, Ukraine and Slovenia. Furthermore, representatives from Liechtenstein, Israel and the Faroe Islands at the start of the first time.
For Germany were next to defending champion Werder Bremen still DFB Cup winners and runners club Hannover 96, from Austria OFB Cup finalist FC Admira / Wacker, from Switzerland cup winners FC Luzern and from Liechtenstein Cup winners FC Vaduz at the start. The two German clubs already met each other in the first round, where Zweitligist Hanover eliminated against the Bremer.
The final at Wembley Stadium in London won the AC Parma with a 3-1 win against FC Antwerp.

Mode
The participants played as usual in pure Cup mode with return games the winner. Was there after two games Torgleichstand, the number of away goals scored decided ( away goals ). Was also equal in number to an extension took place in the return game in which was also the away goals rule. Ruled by the end of the extension is still a tie, a penalty shoot-out was performed. The final was decided on one game at a neutral venue. If the score is level after extra time the winner would also have been determined in a penalty shootout.

The first legs took place on August 19, the return matches on 2 September 1992 instead.
First round
The first legs took place on 15-16. September and the return legs of 29-30. September to 1 October 1992.
2nd round
The first legs took place on 21-22. October, the return legs held on 4 November 1992.
Quarterfinals
The first legs took place from March 2 to 4, the return matches on 17-18. March 1993 instead.
Semifinal
The first legs were held on 6/7 April, the second legs take place on 22 April 1993.
