2000 Superettan

The Superettan 2000 was the debut season of Superettan that the discharged in two seasons Division 1 replaced as the second highest Swedish football league. The season began on 16 April of the year and ended on 29 October 2000.

The former national champion Djurgårdens IF and Malmö FF managed to return to the Allsvenskan. Third- Mjallby AIF failed in the relegation to the first division of BK Hacken. Ljungskile SK and Gunnilse IS had to descend directly into the low ranks, Umeå FC and Åtvidabergs FF failed in the relegation.
