Michael Schumacher kept from the pole position starting the lead ahead of his younger brother. They both sat down on the rest of the field and took the win among themselves. Ralf Schumacher held various very large laps pressure on Michael. Especially on the straights, it was considerably more competitive, but could not pass despite several attempts. When Michael Schumacher was the first of the two turned into the box to his only pit stop, Ralf drove faster lap times than before the start. Michael, who came back to the track in second position, was not able to make up for the lead of his brother again, so Ralf leadership claimed after his pit stop to finish and thus import his second win of the season.
