2005 Men's World Team Squash Championships

The 20th World Team Championship for Men (English 2005 Men's World Team Squash Championships ) was held from 8th to 14th December, 2005 Islamabad, Pakistan instead. A total of 22 teams competed.

After 1995 and 1997, England was the third time in history to win the world championship. In the group phase, the team placed first by without game loss against South Africa, Kuwait and Austria and benefited in the final round of a walk-through first. In the quarterfinals, she defeated again without loss of game the Welsh team before they could prevail against Canada in the semifinals 2-1. Peter Nicol defeated while Graham Ryding, before James Willstrop Jonathon Power lost to smooth. Nick Matthew secured the English with a slick 3-0 win over Shahier Razik the playoff participation. Opponent in the final was the Egyptian team. This was after winning the title in 1999 and reaching the final in 2001 for the third time in a World Cup final. She sat in Group B as final opponents England without loss of game as the winner by, each with 3-0, they defeated Germany, New Zealand and Iran. In the final round of Egypt was also initially a bye and defeated after Malaysia 2-0. In the semifinals, they sat down 2-1 against France. Karim Darwish of Egypt brought by a 3-0 win against Grégory Gaultier lead before Thierry Lincou compensated by a 3-1 win against Amr Shabana. Mohammed Abbas sat down in the decisive game 3-1 against Renan Lavigne by. In the final, Egypt remained comparatively chance against England. James Willstrop defeated Amr Shabana 3-1, before Peter Nicol safely with 3-0 against Mohammed Abbas. The third game was not played. In the third place match against Canada France won 2-1. Thierry Lincou and Grégory Gaultier defeated Jonathon Power and Graham Ryding, Shahier Razik won against Renan Lavigne.

Defending champions Australia took to complete the 5th Place. The team at Anthony Ricketts, Stewart Boswell, Joseph Kneipp and Cameron Pilley was somewhat surprising excreted against Canada in the quarterfinals.

The German team ended the tournament starting on the 10th Place. In the first round of the finals they defeated the narrowest of margins with 1-2 against Wales, Stefan Leifels lost the third game with 2:3 against Alex Gough. It was followed by a 3-0 victory over India, as well as a 1-2 defeat against South Africa. Besides Leifels played Simon Roesner, Simon Baker and Patrick Gässler. Austria occupied the 22th and last place. After ranking fourth in Group A Austria lost in the consolation round against Spain 0-3 and suffered a 0-3 defeat in the match for third place 21 against Kuwait. Mode

The participating teams were divided into six groups according to their setting drawn against each other, the group size varied between three and four teams. Within the groups robin mode was played in the round, the top two teams reached the finals, which were held in the knockout system. The winners of Groups A, B, C and D received a bye in the first round of the finals. In these four of the six groups in each of the four top-seeded teams were set as group head. In the tournament all the seats were played.

All teams consisted of at least three and at most four players who had to be reported in the order of their skill level. Three individual lots were denied per encounter. A team had won when their players were able to win two individual lots. The order of play of each lot was independent of the signaling sequence of the players.
