2008 Premier League Snooker

The Premier League Snooker 2008 ( official name: 2008 PartyPoker.com Premier League Snooker ) was a snooker tournament, which was held in various locations in the UK from 11 September to 7 December 2008.

Ronnie O'Sullivan was the current title holder, who won this tournament the previous 4 years for themselves. He sat down in the final against Mark Selby 7-2 through and won for the eighth time (1997, 2001-2002, 2004-2008) in this tournament.

Qualification

Joe Perry qualified by winning the Championship League 2008 for this tournament. All other players were invited.

Group stage

In the group stage, each player competed against each other player. A match consisted of 6 frames, so that draw could come to pass.

The best 4 players qualified for the final round. A victory gave two points, one for a draw. Event of a tie, the number of frames acquired decided. With the same number of frames won the direct duel decided. Finished the direct duel unentschienden ( 3:3 ), the player was awarded the higher place in the standings, who had won the first three frames in a direct duel.

Final round

In the semifinals, the first place winner was up against the fourth-placed and runner-up against the third- placed teams from the group stage. It was played Best of 9, so that the player who was who as the first 5 frames to decide for himself, entered the finals. In the final Best of 13 was played, so the player could which was the first 7 frames to decide for themselves, and thus won the match and the tournament.
