2009 Solheim Cup

The games of the 11th Solheim Cup were held from 21 to 23 August 2009 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois, west of Chicago. The biennial transmitted three-day competition is the largest professional golf tournament in women's golf, which are competed for twelve golfers in the U.S. and Europe against each other. Up to 90,000 fans watched the games. Team

The teams in the U.S. and Europe were selected by various methods.

For the U.S. team is qualified by points awarded for wins and top 20 finishes on the LPGA Tour for a period of two years. Points were counted from the State Farm Classic 2007 until the Women 's British Open 2009. The 10 players with the most points were automatically nominated for the U.S. team. Two additional players were selected by the captain Beth Daniel after the Women's British Open on August 2, 2009.

When Team Europe were the best 5 players of the LET Solheim Cup rankings, as well as the top four European LET members selected in the Rolex world rankings that are not already qualified on the LET Solheim Cup Ranking. To this end, three more players were nominated by the captain. Points for the LET Solheim Cup ranking you got through Top 10 rankings on official LET events.
