2009 Thai Division 1 League

The Thai Premier League Division 1 is the second highest division in 2009 in Thai football. It will be held in the 2009 season with 16 teams.

Among the established following teams were added relegated from the Thai Premier League:

  • FC Customs Department
  • FC Royal Thai Army

The third relegated team, FC Bangkok Bank, signed off at the end of the 2008 season from the league. This was a result of the league reform which requires every club in the Thai Premier League, must be a registered company for the 2009 season, so First and Second League. Banks is not allowed.

The Royal Thai Police, called in to Police United, and FC Thai Airways moved to the province of Chonburi, Ban after Bueng. Thus, the club was given the Ban Bueng and is called FC Thai Airways -Ban Bueng.
