2011–12 Handball-Bundesliga (women)
The Handball - Bundesliga 2011/12 of the women was the 27th season of the handball league of women.
After the withdrawal of VfL Sindelfingen played 11 teams in the main round for a place in the play-offs for the German championship. The top eight teams played there for the German championship in 2012. The Thüringer HC defended the championship. Up for the new season were the HSG Bad Wildungen and SVG Celle.
In addition, five teams competed in European competitions.

Play-offs German championship
In the play- off games is one of the better goal difference on points. If this is also the same, the higher number of away goals scored decide ( away goals ). Quarterfinals
In the quarterfinals of the table first met the eighth-, second-placed on the seventh-, third-placed on the table Sixth and Fourth- to fifth-placed. The first 4 places had the right to discharge the second leg at home. The first legs took place on 21-22. April 2012 instead of the return legs on 25 April 2012.
Semifinal
The first legs took place on 2 May 2012 and the second legs on May 5, 2012.
Final
The first leg was held on 12 May 2012 the return leg on 19 May 2012.
