2011–12 NextGen Series

The NextGen Series 2011/12 were the first of the playout initiated by film producer Justin Andrews and the sporting director of FC Brentford Mark Warburton European football club competition for male soccer players under 19 years. The competition was attended by 16 clubs from 11 national associations of UEFA.

The season began with the first group matches 17 August 2011 and ended with the final on 25 March 2012 at the Matchroom Stadium in London.

It was played on the model of European club competitions in a combination of group stage round-trip games and knockout system from the quarter- finals. It was played in four groups of four teams each. The respective top two teams in each group qualified for the quarter-finals. This was, however, only one played a game with the group winners enjoyed home advantage. The final four was held in England within twelve days.
