26th G8 summit

The G8 summit in Okinawa in 2000 (also: Kyushu -Okinawa Summit ) was the 26th Summit of Heads of Government of the Group of Eight. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori of Japan from 21 to 23 July 2000 in Nago City, in the Japanese prefecture of Okinawa instead.

Participant

For the first time leaders of other countries were invited as guests, from South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria and Senegal. In addition, representatives of the World Health Organization were present.
