3rd U-boat Flotilla
The 3rd Unterseebootsflottille just 3 U- Flotilla, was a naval force of the former German Navy.
History
The flotilla was set up on October 4, 1937, was stationed in Kiel. She wore in honor of Lieutenant John Loh, a U- boat commanders of World War I, the name Unterseebootsflottille " Lohs ". The name was retained until the first resolution of the flotilla in December 1939.
Only in March 1941, the third Unterseebootsflottille re.installed, received its status as Frontflottille and until September 1941 stationed in Kiel. After the flotilla was moved to the newly built submarine bunker in La Pallice / La Rochelle in France, where they remained from October 1941 to October 1944.
