U 242 was a submarine of the German Navy in World War II. It has been used in the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean to the fault of the British maritime trade.

History

U 242 was ordered on 10 April 1941 and set on 30 July 1942, Kiel. The submarine was launched on July 20, 1943 from the pile and was put into service on August 14, 1943.

Training rides

  • On May 21, 1944 U 242 ran from the port of Kiel in the North Sea and returned four days later back without sinking success.
  • 8. June 1944. Departing from Stavanger in occupied Norway. Return after 18 days on 26 June 1944. No sinkings.
