Aaron Palushaj

Aaron Palushaj ( born September 7, 1989 in Livonia, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player in the position of winger. Since July 2013 he is with the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Palushaj began his career with the Des Moines Buccaneers in the United States Hockey League, with whom he won the Clark Cup in 2006. NHL Entry Draft 2007, he was selected in the second round to 44th overall position of the St. Louis Blues. From 2007 to 2009 he attended the University of Michigan and, meantime, was active for the ice hockey team, the Michigan Wolverines, in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association ( CCHA ). During this time he won in 2008 with the Wolverines the Mason Cup, the championship of the CCHA. The following year, the offensive player reach 50 points scorer in 39 CCHA games, which he was appointed at the end of the season in the CCHA First All -Star team as well as the West All- American team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

After he completed 52 games for the Peoria Rivermen, the farm team of the St. Louis Blues in the American Hockey League ( AHL ) before he was released on 3 March 2010 by the Blues at the Montreal Canadiens. St. Louis won the Matt D' Agostini defender in return. In the following three years Palushaj played 41 games for the Canadiens in the National Hockey League ( NHL); most of the time he was active for Montreal's AHL farm team Hamilton Bulldogs.

On 5 February 2013 were committed by the Colorado Avalanche Aaron Palushaj from waiver from. In July 2013 he signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Internationally

Aaron Palushaj represented his country with the U.S. national team for the first time at the U20 World Youth Championship 2009, when Team USA finished fifth. He had his second outing became four years later at the Men 's World Cup 2013. In this tournament, the Americans won after a victory in the match for 3rd place against the Finnish selection the bronze medal. In nine starts Palushaj scoring a goal and an assist.
