Abdul Rahim Hatef

Abdul Rahim Hatef (Persian عبدالرحيم هاتف, DMG ʿ Abdurrahim Hatef; * July 7, 1925 in Kandahar, † August 19, 2013 ) was an Afghan politician.

Hatef served under President Mohammad Najibullah as Vice President of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. He was a non-party and was at the VDPA regime against partially critical support it, however. Two weeks before the capture of Kabul by the Mujahideen, he was following the resignation Najibullah on April 18, 1992 Acting President of Afghanistan. On April 28, the Mujahideen captured Kabul, overthrew the government and called the Islamic State of Afghanistan. New president was Sibghatullah Modschaddedi.
