Addison is a town in Addison County, the State of Vermont in the United States with 1,371 inhabitants ( according to the census of 2010). The municipality is located on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain on the border of New York State. About here the lake springing Hudson River, which forms from that point on the border to the south between Vermont and New York, is a road connection, the Lake Champlain Bridge, Crown Point headland. In the Town there are three population centers ( Villages ): West Addison on the shores of Lake Champlain, Chimney Point at the entrance to the bridge and Addison Four Corners at the intersection of two country roads.

The Town was proclaimed for colonization by Benning Wentworth on October 14, 1761, but had been already settled by the French in 1731 with a fort at Chimney Point, which served as a counterpart to the later Fort Crown Point and controlled access to the Hudson. In 1764 the country was by royal decision to the New York State slammed and made ​​from reclaimed in 1769 by the English.
