AIDS Memorial Grove

The AIDS Memorial Grove is a 28,000 m² large, wooded valley in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, which is dedicated to the people who have died of complications from AIDS. It is used to support those living with AIDS and their family members and caregivers.

The development of the memorial began in 1991 in the former Laveaga valley. In 1996, she became the National Memorial. The AIDS Memorial Grove belongs to the city of San Francisco and is also managed by it, but there is an associated area of ​​the National Park Service.
