History
The Åkers IF was created in 1918 by the merger of the IF Svea and Åkers Sportklubb. The Hockey team took in the 1940s and 1950s repeatedly participated in the then still in the Cup mode discharged Swedish Championship. In the seasons 1946/47 and 1953/54, the team met four in Division 1 at that time was still the highest Swedish league, but increased each directly back into the then second-rate Division 2. In the 1979/80 season the team played in the now second-class Division 1, but rose again directly again. Since the 2009/10 season of Åkers IF occurs in the now third-rate Division 1.
