Al-Farouq Aminu

Al- Farouq Aminu Ajiede ( born September 21, 1990 in Stone Mountain, Georgia ) is a Nigerian- American professional basketball player who plays for the New Orleans Pelicans in the National Basketball Association since 2011.

College

Aminu played one year for the college team from Wake Forest University. He scored in his Freshmansaison 13.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. For his services he was appointed to the ACC All- Freshman Team his Conference.

NBA

When NBA Draft 2010 Aminu was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers at 8th position. In his rookie year in the NBA Aminu scored 5.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in just under 18 minutes per encounter.

On December 14, 2011 Aminu was transferred together with his teammates Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman and a künfitgen draft pick for Chris Paul to the New Orleans Hornets.

National

Aminu is a member of the Nigerian national basketball team. With Nigeria, he participated in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, but Nigeria did not win any medal.
