Ryan Anderson (basketball)
Ryan Anderson (born 6 May 1988 in Sacramento, California) is an American professional basketball player who is currently with the New Orleans Hornets under contract. The 2.08 m wide power forward runs on the shirt number 33. Anderson is an unusually good shooter from three-point distance, especially for a player of his position and body size.
From 2006 to 2008 Anderson was for the college team of the University of California, Berkeley, the California Golden Bears, active. In his second year there, he was top scorer of the Pacific -10 Conference, qualified with his team but not for the NCAA Tournament.
In NBA Draft 2008 Anderson was selected in 21 out of the New Jersey Nets, where he played one year. This was followed by a change to the Orlando Magic, with whom he reached the final series of the Eastern Conference right away. After his playing time had increased during the 2010/11 season, Anderson established in the following season as one of the most consistent scorer of his team.
In the season 2011/12 Anderson increased his statistical values , for which he was awarded the NBA Most Improved Player.
For the 2012/2013 season moved Anderson within the League and signed a contract with the New Orleans Hornets.
