2010–11 NBA season
The NBA 2010/11 season was the 65th season of the National Basketball Association. The regular season began on 26 October 2010 and ended on 13 April 2011. Was followed by the NBA Playoffs on April 16, 2011 with the last game of the NBA Finals in 2011 ended on June 12.
Course of the season
Regular Season
The regular season began in late October and was opened with the play of the Miami Heat against the Boston Celtics, followed by the championship celebration of the Los Angeles Lakers and their game against the Houston Rockets. On December 25, 2010, so Christmas, five games were played, including matches against Orlando and Boston meeting of the reigning champion Los Angeles against the Miami Heat.
For the first time a regular season game was played on European soil this season, on 4 and 5 March 2011 denied the Toronto Raptors on two days in a row two regular season games against the New Jersey Nets at London's O2 Arena. The New Jersey Nets were able to prevail in both games of the season and won on March 4, 2011, 116:103 and on March 5, 2011 after triple overtime with 137:136 against the Toronto Raptors.
All-Star Game
The All-Star Game took place on February 20, 2011 in front of 17.163 spectators at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The selection of the West won the 60th edition of the All- Star Games with 148:143. MVP of the game was Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Playoffs
The playoffs started on 16 April 2011 and ended with the finals, which were held from 31 May to 12 June 2011.
