The Highway 5 ( AB 5 short ) is a highway in the Canadian province of Alberta. It starts in Waterton Lakes National Park and ends on Highway 3, the Crowsnest Highway, in Lethbridge. The entire route is 110 km long.

Route

The highway begins in Waterton Lakes National Park Waterton Lake. Staying in the park is chargeable, it shall be charged an entrance fee for the national park. The route leads to the northeast and strikes the Highway 6, which comes from the south of the United States and to the north leads up by Chief Mountain. The highway leads to the National Park boundary further to the northeast, and from there to the east in the direction of Mountain View.

From there, from the Highway runs back to the northeast, passing the towns of Cardston and Magrath. The crosses Highway 2 in Cardston, a short distance run the Highways 2 and 5 on the same street. In Magrath of Highway 62 branches off to the south towards; on the further route of Highway 5 to Lethbridge of Highway 52 has its beginning, which is a shortcut to Highway 4. The other route leads north into the city Lethbridge.
