Aleksandr Timoshinin

Alexander Ivanovich Timoschinin ( born May 20, 1948 in Moscow ) is a former rower from the Soviet Union. He won two Olympic medals.

The rowing for Dynamo Moscow Timoschinin 1968 won his first Soviet Championship title after twelve years older Anatoli Sass formed a double scull with him. At the Olympic Games in 1968, the two Russians were victorious on the regatta course in Xochimilco with a second ahead.

At the start of the Olympic season in 1972 formed Timoschinin with the 1949 born in Leningrad Gennadi Korschikow a new double sculls. At the Olympic Games, the two won with less than a second ahead. Timoschinin had thus won his second Olympic gold medal. In 1973 Timoschinin and Korschikow second in the European Championship.
