Alexander Stepanovich Viktorenko (Russian Александр Степанович Викторенко, scientific transliteration Aleksandr Stepanovic Viktorenko; born March 29, 1947 in Olginka at Petropavlovsk, North Kazakhstan, Kazakh SSR ) is a retired Soviet cosmonaut. He spent 489 days in space and is ninth on the list of astronauts with the most experience.

Spaceman activity

Viktorenko was the Soviet Air Force pilot before he was selected as a cosmonaut in 1978. In 1985 and 1986 he was in the backup crew for the Soyuz T-14 and Soyuz T-15, the last flights to the space station Salyut 7

On his first space flight launched Alexander Viktorenko on 22 July 1987 as commander of the spaceship Soyuz TM- third Together with Alexander Alexandrov and the Muhammed Ahmed Faris Syrians he flew to the Mir space station, which was manned at this time with Yuri Romanenko and Alexander Lawejkin. After a week Viktorenko landed TM-2 along with Faris and Lawejkin in the space ship Soyuz.

For the flight of Soyuz TM -13 October 1991-March 1992 was Viktorenko substitute for Alexander Volkov.
