Alexander Khavanov

Alexander Pavlovich Chawanow (Russian Александр Павлович Хаванов; born January 30, 1972 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player (defender).

Career

As early as the 1992/93 season played Chawanow at the Birmingham Bulls in the East Coast Hockey League. About the SKA Saint Petersburg Severstal Cherepovets and as well as some games in the Finnish SM- liiga in HPK Hämeenlinna led his way to the 1998/99 season to HK Dynamo Moscow.

He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the eighth round to 232 instead of the St. Louis Blues in 1999. For this, he played a total of four seasons in the National Hockey League. The NHL lockout season, he again spent at SKA Saint Petersburg. After another season in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, he joined the 2006/07 season to Europe and spent a year working at HC Davos in the National League A. In the summer of 2007, he finished his career at the age of 35 years.
