Alexander Wolf

Alexander Wolf ( born December 21, 1978 in Schmalkalden ) is a former German biathlete.

Career

Alexander Wolf began as a 7 -year-old in January 1986 with the biathlon. He trained at WSV Oberhof 05 and immediately earned his first official competition in Trusetal. From 1991, he attended the Skigymnasium Oberhof, where he graduated from high school in 1997. He then began his training at the Federal. In 1997 and 1998 he took part in Forni Avoltri Valcartier at the Junior World Championships. There he won with the seasons each gold medal or the silver medal in the team competition. Even as a junior he won the 1997 in Forni Avoltri with the relay gold medal at the European Junior Championships.

In the season 1998/99 he played his first World Cup race in Hochfilzen. In his first year in the World Cup his best result was a 10th place in the sprint in Osrblie. In February 1999, he won the European Championships in the Russian Izhevsk two gold medals in the sprint and the relay. A year later he was after good results in the World Cup for the first time at a World Cup at the start. He finished the single race over 20 km by 8 square. In the 2000 /01 season, he did not manage to qualify for the World Cup. He could by good results in the World Cup qualify for the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City / USA in 2002. In Östersund he took in the pursuit and bronze in the relay, respectively. Also at the Winter Games in Vancouver took part wolf and occupied the 24th place in the individual. His last podium finish so far in the World Cup, he reached in Oslo in March 2011.

As Wolf has a violation of Fußwurzelknochens drawn to the summer of 2011, he had to undergo a surgical procedure. This caused several months of training failure, so he did not start in the World Cup in the 2011/12 season. In the following season, Wolf did not recover completely from the effects of his injury and was unable to fight back into the team. In March 2013, then finished his career.

Since his graduation in 2002, he was employed as a police officer at the Federal. Since 2008 he has Polizeihauptmeister.
