Ali Bozer

Ali Husrev Bozer ( born July 28, 1925 in Ankara) is a Turkish legal scholars and politicians.

Bozer graduated in 1947 from the Faculty of Law at Ankara Universitesi. His doctoral thesis he wrote in 1951 at the Faculty of Law of the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. In 1951 he became an assistant in commercial law at the Faculty of Law, Ankara University, 1956 he was at the same faculty lecturer and subsequently in 1965 professor. He was elected as a judge to the European Court of Human Rights and the International Court of Justice.

He was in the government that was established after the military coup of 12 September 1980, to 1983, Minister of Customs and Monopolies. He was a founding member of the Milliyetçi Demokrasi Partisi and member of the Party for the Ankara Province in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Later he moved into the Anavatan Partisi. Between 1986 and 1989 he was Minister of State for the European Community. Between 1989 and 1990 he was Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in 1990. Between Bozer and the then President Turgut Ozal occurred in relation to the Second Gulf War, disagreements that led to his resignation.

Bozer is a university professor at the Faculty of Political Science, Ankara Üniversitesi, and at the Faculty of Law at the Çankaya Üniversitesi.
