Alois Kottmann

Alois Kottmann (* 1929 in Großauheim, Hesse ) is a German violinist, music educator, patron and high school teachers.

Life and work

Alois Kottmann grew up in the home of his family with two siblings, the son of a silversmith. In particular, his music-loving mother did everything to let her three children develop musically. His music teacher at the High State School (Gymnasium) in Hanau encouraged him to play the violin. After his graduation Kottmann took first in private violin lessons at home Hölscher, where he friendship with Gert Hölscher (1930 - 2010) was particularly encouraged musically. In this way he learned early the pianist Günter Ludwig know. At the Musikhochschule Frankfurt Kottmann eventually studied with Marie -Louise Graef - monk assistant Alma Moodie, and was trained by Carl Flesch. With her he had taken years before graduation classes.

In high school competition in Hamburg Kottmann was awarded violin. After his concert examination, he first worked as a violin teacher at the Odenwald School. From 1958 Kottmann worked as a university teacher at the prestigious Hoch Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main. Later, he was also active as a lecturer at the Musikhochschule in Frankfurt, at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. From 1977 to 1979 he was acting director of Dr. Hoch's Conservatory.

Kottmann identification with substantial music and its playback is largely due to the forces acting during his education at the University of personalities Walther Davisson, Kurt Hessenberg, Gustav Lenzewski, August Leopolder and Helmut Walcha, as well as his encounters with the family von Bethmann, Anton Biersack, Reinhold Finkbeiner, Erich Flinsch, Karl Friday, Karl Heinz Ludwig radio, Ludwig Hoelscher, Richard Rudolf Klein, Dieter Lindemann, Otmar Macha, Thomas Magyar, Yehudi Menuhin, Ginette Neveu, Elly Ney, Váša Příhoda, Max Rostal, Gerhard Taschner, Rüdiger Volhard, Bruno Vondenhoff and Friedrich Zipp due.

Initiatives and commitments

Radio

With the Hessischer Rundfunk and Norddeutscher Rundfunk a long-standing collaboration was through joint productions archive a variety of violin solo works. Recordings were beyond even the RIAS Berlin, for radio diffusion Paris, Swiss Radio DRS (Studio Basel) and the British Broadcasting Corporation ( BBC ) as well as acquisitions in the Czechoslovak Radio ( Československý rozhlas ).
