In the Samtgemeinde Old Office Lemfoerde from the Lower Saxony Diepholz seven communities have joined together to do their administrative business. The name refers to an "office Lemfoerde " which already existed at the time of the Counts of Diepholz and in the time of the electorate and the Kingdom of Hanover and in 1859 the Office Diepholz affiliated.

Geography

Geographical location

The Samtgemeinde Old Office Lemfoerde located in the southwest of Lower Saxony in the triangle of the cities of Bremen, Osnabrück and Oldenburg. It forms the southernmost part of the district Diepholz. The integrated municipality is bordered by the eastern and southern shore of Dümmer as well as from the western section of the crest of the mountain Stemweder.

Neighboring municipalities are - from north clockwise: Diepholz, Samtgemeinde Rehden, Wagenfeld, Stemwede ( district of Minden- Luebbecke ) ( North Rhine- Westphalia), Bohmte (District of Osnabrück ) and Damme ( Vechta County ).
