Amiga 1200
The Amiga 1200 ( or shortly A1200 ) was a home computer from the family of Amiga computers.
He came in 1992 to the market and had the following properties:
- MC68EC020 CPU with 14.18 MHz ( PAL) or 14.32 MHz (NTSC) (Motorola 68020 )
- Memory: 2 MB
- Expansion Slot ( " Trapdoor " ) for processor and memory extensions
- ATA controller for the connection of hard drives, a drive in the 2.5 "form fit directly into the case
- AGA chipset ( in Germany known as AA )
- PCMCIA slot ( 16 bits for the memory cards, but slows down the 32-bit CPU)

Operating system: AmigaOS 3.0 (later 3.1). Some models were shipped with internal 2.5 " hard drive.
Other drives, such as floppy disks and other partly CD -ROM drives had to be retrofitted externally.
It was later even a prototype of an external CD -ROM drive called CD1200 for the Amiga 1200, which was shown at CeBIT 1994, but never went into production.
For hobbyists Originally designed for a battery-operated clock or a memory expansion is particularly interesting is the clock port of the Amiga 1200. The Amiga 1200 could be upgraded with a so-called turbo card. This was a board that was inserted into the trapdoor expansion slot on the bottom of the housing, and a faster processor ( 68020, 68030, 68040, 68060, PowerPC ) and high-speed peripherals (RAM, SCSI, and possibly even 64 -bit graphics ) housed.
