Amin al-Hafez (Lebanon)

Amin al- Hafez Hafez or amines (Arabic أمين الحافظ, DMG Amīn al - Hafiz, born January 28, 1926 in Tripoli, † July 13, 2009 in Beirut ) was a Lebanese general and politician ( Ba'ath Party ).

Al - Hafez was on April 25, 1973 to June 21, 1973 Prime Minister of Lebanon.

His tenure was problematic from the beginning, because shortly after his appointment by the President Suleiman Frangieh violent uprisings came through the Sunni leader, who refused to recognize Amin al- Hafez as Prime Minister. After only two months in office, he finally resigned, but was still represented in the Lebanese parliament.

Al- Hafez died at the age of 83 years after a long-standing fight against a chronic disease that had not been made ​​public.
