Andrew McPherson (ice hockey)

Andrew "Mac" McPherson ( born April 28, 1979 in Dauphin, Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey player ( striker ). He was pulled in the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 in the ninth round at 261 instead of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Career

The 1.88 m wide and 88 kg attacker first played several years in the junior League National Collegiate Athletic Association, before joining operations in the East Coast Hockey League and the Central Hockey League in 2002/ 03. From the season 2003/ 04 he was a regular player in the team Roanoke Express in the ECHL and in the following season with the Port Huron Beacons in the United Hockey League. In summer 2005, he moved to Europe where he played for the EV Landsberg 2000. In the main round of the league season 2005/ 06 he was the bad boy with 180 penalty minutes in 32 games, including three were game penalty. In these 32 games he scored 27 goals and 28 templates. In the Master round the league season, he maintained 55 penalty minutes in 16 games, and he shot himself nine and prepared 13 goals against. In the league play-offs Mac stood in all eight games on the ice - thereby pass him three goals and one assist. Also in the 2006/07 season played McPherson for the EV Landsberg 2000 in the 2nd Bundesliga. Here he succeeded in 51 games 21 goals and 41 assists and was voted the best center of the season. After his involvement in Landsberg McPherson joined the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. He played in the 2007/08 season 53 Matches for Lower Bavaria and reached it 17 points scorer. After a year in the German top flight of Canadians returned to the 2nd Bundesliga and joined the SC Riessersee to, for whom he played until 2010. In the season 2010/11 he stood at the Hannover Indians under contract and there was one of the top scorers in the league.

Because since the spring of 2011 his naturalization runs to Germany, he tried to get a place in the DEL with German players pass. In August, Andrew McPherson received a sample contract with EHC Munich.
