Ann Turkel

Ann Kathryn Turkel (* July 16, 1946 in New York City, New York ) is an American actress and former fashion model.

Life

Turkel grew up in Manhattan and studied at the Musical Theatre Academy. At the age of 16 she was discovered by an employee at the Vogue as a fashion model and was seen shortly afterwards on the cover of the magazine. She was then booked by companies like Revlon and Chanel for advertisements. In 1968, she appeared in the film comedy Paper Lion with Alan Alda and Lauren Hutton for the first time in a small supporting role in a feature film. In 1974, she received a major supporting role alongside Richard Harris in John Frankenheimer's action movie Ballermann King, for which she was nominated as Best Young Actress for the Golden Globe Award. In the same year she married Harris and subsequently were both seen in several feature films together, including meeting Todesbrücke and rendezvous with death.

In 1982, the marriage ended in divorce. Turkel was to be seen in the following years as a guest star in various television series like Fantasy Iceland, Knight Rider, Street Hawk and The Love Boat. In addition, she has appeared in several television films and played the title role of Modesty Blaise in the same pilot, which was not realized as a television series. Most recently she had in 2006 a small supporting role in Tony Scott's sci-fi film Déjà Vu - race against time.
