Arbúcies

Arbúcies is a Catalan city in the province of Girona, northeastern Spain. It is located in the comarca of Selva.

The city lies between the mountain range and Montseny Guilleries. Near the town is the Castell de Montsoriu.

Economy and Transport

Despite the small size of the place Arbúcies is one of the most important and best known sites in Catalonia (and Spain as a whole ) for the production of buses. Among the best known are the companies Noge, Indcar and Ayats.

From the mass tourism of only an hour away places of the Mediterranean, the city gained little. On weekends and public holidays Arbúcies is frequently visited by Spanish tourists. The agricultural area has been greatly reduced. On the abandoned fields grow firs and pines that are economically used as Christmas trees.
