Arnolec

Arnolec ( German Arnold village, also Arnoletz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 10 kilometers southeast of Polná and belongs to Okres Jihlava.

Geography

Arnolec located in the Arnolecké Mountains at the confluence of the creek Arnolecký creek in the Balinka, which rises north of the town. To the north rises the Sádek ( 698 m ) in the north- east, the Havlina (706 m) and in the northwest Na Vrchu (617 m).

Neighboring towns are Rudolec in the north, Chroustov in the northeast, Cerna in the east, Jersín in the south, Nadějov the southwest, Zhoř in the west and Stáj in the northwest.

History

The first written record comes from the year 1407.

After the abolition of patrimonial Arnolec formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Jihlava. From 1949 the congregation to Okres Jihlava - okolí and since 1961 was again Okres Jihlava.
