Arto Härkönen

Arto Kalevi Harkonen ( born January 31, 1959 in Helsinki) was a Finnish javelin thrower.

At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles were missing as a result of the Olympic boycott, the launcher from the Soviet Union and the GDR. The GDR had submitted to the European Championship in 1982 with Uwe Hohn and at the World Championships in 1983 with Detlef Michel the winner.

Because of the boycott of the way was now clear for Arto Harkonen. The Fifth European Championship of 1982, with 86.76 m Olympic champion before the British David Ottley and Kenth Eldebrink from Sweden.
